For several years now, technology has been moving toward the development of contactless solutions that can be controlled wirelessly or by voice. Starting in 2020, the adoption of these technologies within companies accelerated, seeking solutions that provide peace of mind and security to those who use them by avoiding contact with surfaces and making the wireless connection and use of rooms, audiovisual tools and conferences easier.
A study carried out in April 2020 by the Capgemini Research Institute revealed that 77% of respondents expected to increase their use of contactless technologies during the pandemic, and 62% said they would keep using it after it ended. Today we see the development of voice-controlled technologies and new solutions for conference rooms that come through personal-use devices such as laptops and smartphones, which connect to the room through the network or apps without using cables.

In contactless offices, developments are aimed at having end devices connect to the building’s automation system, with control handled from the user’s device or phone. The new apps allow direct and complete access to selected rooms or zones, making it possible to turn on the systems, use conferences and videoconferences, and turn off the rooms once the equipment disconnects from the network. This technology and its possible uses are similar to those used in smart homes and, at the same time, make it possible to separate users, restrict access and maintain the advanced security that companies require.
