Aware of the environmental impact that technology companies generate around the world, and seeking to be a company with environmental policies that help mitigate the impact of our sector, starting in May at Integración AV we began offsetting our carbon footprint with BancO2, an initiative that seeks not only to promote the offsetting of the carbon footprint produced by companies and individuals through the conservation of Colombia’s natural systems, known as native forests, and reforestation, but also improves the quality of life of the Colombian farmers associated with the project through payment for environmental services, training them in different productive activities that respect the environment and helping them manage productive loans that allow them to improve their conditions.

Among the stories of the farmers associated with the project is that of Dona Rosita, a woman who, along with her family, is devoted to working the land and who also has a cow. With the cow’s milk she makes small cheeses every day that used to spoil because she had no way to refrigerate them and handle them properly while she sold them; thanks to the program and with the payment she receives monthly for her environmental services, she was able to access a microloan with which she bought a refrigerator where she can now store her cheeses and sell them before they spoil.
We believe that companies must play an active role in our society, not only by generating employment, but also through policies that improve the quality of life of our planet and its inhabitants.
