Fohhn and Integración AV in Colombia
In February 2023, after attending ISE in Barcelona, Juan Carlos Gutiérrez, Integración AV’s director, and Luis Martínez, Projects director, visited Fohhn’s factory in Germany and closed an agreement to represent the brand in Colombia, a representation we still hold today. The news was published by AVI Latinoamérica.
Since then we’ve included Fohhn in projects where the venue calls for it: large rooms, highly reverberant spaces, or places where the loudspeakers can’t alter the architecture.
What beam steering is and why it matters
In an auditorium with hard surfaces, much of the sound from a conventional loudspeaker hits the ceiling and walls first and reaches the audience delayed. The result is a voice that sounds loud but is hard to understand.
Beam steering uses digital processing to control the vertical dispersion of sound: the beam is aimed at the audience area, reducing the energy that reaches reflective surfaces. Because the adjustment is made in software, the loudspeaker can be mounted flush on the wall, built into the architecture, with no mechanical tilt.
