What Is Streaming and Why Is It Important?

To understand what this article is about, we should start by defining what streaming is, which basically means: broadcasting content over the network. Its exact definition is a bit more complete, but for this case we will use this short meaning.

There are several benefits when doing audio and video streaming in a variety of contexts, including: product promotion, service promotion, live announcements, live or recorded classes, church services, among others.

Companies, educational institutions or religious worship centers can use this broadcasting service to maximize and improve direct communication with clients and the community at large. With the use of this technology, the opportunity increases  to reach and interact with more people around the world.

The possibility of broadcasting virtual training sessions, virtual masses, virtual concerts and virtual remote-work meetings.

Essential equipment for quality audio and video streaming

To generate good-quality audiovisual content, it is not enough to use the resources that desktop or laptop computers offer us; we must rely on somewhat more advanced and professional technologies that are easy to use and, even better, if they are Plug and Play.

I mean a good video camera and a good microphone to avoid echo or distant sound, so you can achieve excellent intelligibility (that which can be understood or perceived without problems), one of the most important aspects when broadcasting, even above the video. If the video fails during the broadcast of a class or a church service, the audio still lets you follow the presentation or talk, but if the audio fails and the video continues, the speaker may become impossible to understand.

Now, what could be better than using a camera that automatically tracks the presenter? In addition: auto zoom and auto focus, without the need for an operator. Wouldn’t that be great?

Integración AV advises you on the best equipment for streaming

Here is that solution, which consists of a PTZ camera (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) that tracks automatically, even when the presenter has their back turned, and best of all: It requires no manual control or setup process!.

It has a Full HD output resolution (1080p at 60Hz) via USB and HDMI for easy integration into video conference systems such as Polycom, Cisco, Avaya, Lifesize, ZTE and HUAWEI, among others. It is compatible with popular web conferencing applications such as ZOOM, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, BlueJeans, GoTo Meeting, Skype, etc. In addition, via RTMP, it live-streams to popular CDNs (content delivery networks) such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Ustream.

It includes a wireless microphone to hang around the neck, in order to free the speaker’s hands to write easily on the board or on the computer.

And finally, it includes a device (Media Station) for streaming while it records the audio, the video and the presenter’s presentation. It lets you: insert a background into the content, a corporate logo and text over the image with the speaker’s name and, in addition,  create a simple video production intuitively, where you can select the size of the windows (cameras and/or presentations), the number of simultaneous windows and the size of each one.
